Installing and Configuring the SilkWorm 3800

Verify that two of the slide mount L-brackets (Item 2) are attached to each outer slide rail,
using two of the slotted head 8-32 x 3/8 inch screws (Item 4) per bracket, with the screw heads
on the inside of the slide rails and a lock nut (Item 3) on the end of each screw. These screws
should be at a torque of 15 inch-pounds.

Install the power cord clips (Item 5) onto the outer slide rails. Install the clips on the outer
surface of the slide rails, so that they do not interfere with sliding the rails. The clips can be
oriented with the tabs above or below, provided they are consistent.
6.
Insert the power cords into the power cord clips, with the pronged end of the power cords
toward the cool-air aisle, for access to the power source.

Install the outer slide rails in the cabinet:

Allow a minimum service loop of 6 inches at the switch to ensure freedom of
movement to plug and unplug cords from switch.
To allow the switch to slide out the exhaust-air side of the cabinet:
Install the power cords into the clips with the receptacle end towards the closed end
of the slide rail.
To allow the switch to slide out the cool-air side of the cabinet:
Install the power cords into the clips with the receptacle end towards the open end of
the slide rail.
Ensure cords are not exposed to stress when switch is moved on slide
rails. To prevent cords from being pulled out of clips, unplug them from
switch before moving switch on slide rails.
Position one of the outer slide rails in the cabinet, as follows:
To allow the switch to slide out the exhaust-air side of the cabinet: Orient as
shown in
Figure 2-1 on page
cool-air side of the cabinet.
To allow the switch to slide out the cool-air side of the cabinet: Orient as shown
in
Figure 2-2 on page
exhaust-air side of the cabinet.
Attach the bracket on one end of the slide rail to the corresponding cabinet rail, as shown
in Figure 2-1, and Figure 2-2.
If the Rack Mount Brackets were installed in step 3, leave the middle hole of the set
of three empty for attaching the Rack Mount Bracket.
