FRONT AND REAR BRAKES

REMOVING THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER

NOTE:
If the rear brake caliper cannot be removed
easily, first remove the brake pads, and then
remove the caliper.

DISASSEMBLING THE FRONT BRAKE
CALIPERS
1. Remove:
• brake caliper pistons
• dust seals 1
• caliper piston seals 2

a. Blow compressed air into the hose joint
opening to force out the caliper piston from
the brake caliper body.
WARNING
_
• Never try to pry out a caliper piston.
• Cover the caliper piston with a rag. Be
careful not to get injured when the piston
is expelled from the caliper cylinder.
b. Remove the dust seals and caliper piston
seals.

DISASSEMBLING THE REAR BRAKE
CALIPER
1. Remove:
• brake caliper piston 1
• dust seal 2
• caliper piston seal 3

a. Turn the brake caliper piston counterclock-
wise to remove it.
WARNING
Never try to pry out the caliper piston.
b. Remove the dust seal and caliper piston
seal.
