Transformer configuration via BOS

Preparatory steps
Configuration
Start the BOS.
1.
The matching data have to be configured in the timer reference of the
BOS for a successful connection setup. Detailed information on this
topic is provided in the BOS 6000 online help (keyword „Registering
timers in the BOS 6000").
Select the relevant timer in the BOS main window.
2.
Select the „Programming" topic, „Electrode" tab.
3.
Select the respective electrode number (gun) via the
4.
input field.
Select the transformer used via the "Type" parameter.
5.
If the transformer used is not included in the selection list, use the
„Other transformers" setting.
Take the parameter value over into the timer.
6.
If „Other transformers" has been configured, you have to set the
7.
following parameters according to the technical data of the MF wel
ding transformer used:
• Transformer transmission ratio
• Nominal current or output continuous current.
For information on the parameters, please refer to the online help of
BOS 6000.
Activate the diode monitoring using the „Monitoring" parameter.
8.
If „Other transformers" has been configured, you have to set the
9.
following parameters according to the technical data of the MF wel
ding transformer used:
• Diode type
• Number of parallel (diodes)
• Switch-off temperature
For information on the parameters, please refer to the online help of
BOS 6000.
Enter the number of transformers used via the „Number" parameter
10.
and take the parameter value over into the timer.
If the „Number" parameter has been configured with values greater
11.
than 1, enter the connection option used (serial, parallel).
Use the „Upper current limit" parameter to limit the secondary cur
12.
rents which can be parametrized transformer- or gun-specifically.
For detailed information, refer to Section 5.3.1 on page 117 et seq.
Make sure that the „Current measurement range" parameter prin
13.
cipally matches the used application.
Make sure that the „Current sensor sensitivity" parameter princi
14.
pally matches the used current sensor system.
Please note that the parameter is adjusted by the timer automatically
in the course of a current calibration. Therefore do not change the
parameter value without reason!
If different guns are operated on the timer via docking, repeat the
15.
configuration for each gun used starting with step 4.
