B. When not using the printer
Preparation before storage
1. First, perform white tube cleaning. Select [All Whites]. See "5-1-3. White Tube Cleaning (once a week)". After
cleaning the tube, insert the Capping Cartridge (optional) with the Maintenance Solution loaded in the tube.
2. Next, perform the Maintenance cleaning. Select [Maintenance] > [Nozzle Cleaning] from the menu and press
OK. The platen moves and the cap moves down. Following the indications on the display, turn off the power
and open the Front Cover with both hands until it is locked with the stopper.
3. See "5-2-1. Replacing the Wiper Cleaner and Cleaning the Caps / Wipers", and clean the areas around the
White and Color Print Heads. If the Wiper Cleaner is dirty, replace it with a new one.
4. Next, in order to prevent the ink within the Maintenance Unit from hardening, put 7 to 8 drops of Wash Liquid
into the CMYK Caps.
<Note>
Be careful that the Wash Liquid does not spill over around the Caps.
5. Press the Stop Lever to release the Lock, close the Front Cover with both hands, and turn on the power.
6. Once the initialization is completed, turn off the power and store the printer.
Regular Maintenance Every Two Weeks
Be sure to perform the following regular maintenance every two weeks and be sure new Maintenance Solution is
always loaded in the White tube.
White side:
1. Load the Maintenance Solution into the bottle and check the amount of Waste Liquid left in the Waste Ink
Tank.
2. Insert the Maintenance Cartridge and select [Maintenance] > [Load White] from the menu to load the
Maintenance Solution instead of White Ink.
3. After the loading, insert the Capping Cartridge. Be sure that new Maintenance Solution is always loaded in all
the White Print Heads and Tubes.
<Note>
If the White Ink Tube becomes cloudy, retry the tube cleaning.
CMYK side:
Following steps 4 to 6 for preparation before storage, put a few drops of Wash Liquid into the Caps to prevent the
ink from hardening.
Printing again White data (reactivation)
