5-2-8. Replacing the Platen Sheet

The Platen Sheet becomes dirty as it is used. Replace the sheet with a new one as needed to prevent the printed
fabric from becoming dirty.
<Note>
In the [Useful Tools] of [Brother GT-3 Tools] in the PC's [All Programs], there are Grid print data. Print the Grid
that fits the Platen size. See "3-3-9. Opening the Useful Tools".
(1) Press the Platen button to eject the Platen.
(2) Slowly peel off the Platen Sheet and Double-stick Tape from the Platen. If the Platen Sheet sticks, remove
the Platen from the printer to work on it.
(3) Clean the Platen surface with a soft cloth dipped in diluted detergent. Afterwards, wipe it with a soft dry cloth.
If the Platen is very dirty, clean it after removing it from the printer.
(4) After the Platen surface becomes completely dry, apply a new Platen Sheet to the Platen. Since there is a
slit on the release papers on the rear side of the Platen Sheet, peel off a portion of the release paper. While
paying attention so that the adhesive surface does not contact the Platen, position the Platen Sheet and
then apply the Sheet to the inmost of the Platen. Afterwards, continue to apply it by peeling off the release
paper little by little.
<Note>
When applying the Platen Sheet to the Platen, be careful to avoid wrinkles in the Sheet, and keep it straight.
