Automatic rinsing

The automatic rinse function clears
the steam generator of mineral de-
posits from the evaporated water.
After approx. 0.8 gal (3 liters) of water
have been passed through the system,
and after the steam ironing system has
been turned on, the rinse process starts
automatically.
The rinsing process takes several min-
utes. Steam escapes and splashing
noises can be heard. At the same time,
the message
 
shown in the display on the tower.
The iron cannot be used while the
rinsing process is in progress.
The steam ironing system can only
be used again once the automatic
rinsing process is completed.

Preparing for the rinsing process

 Set the appliance to its highest work-
ing position to allow the removal of
the residual water container later (see
"Height adjustment").
 If the message  
shown in the display, fill the water
container (see "Filling the water con-
tainer").

Draining the residual water container

After the rinsing process is completed,
the residual water container must be
emptied. The message  
drawer
appears in the display on the
control panel when the residual water
container needs to be emptied. The
residual water container can be re-
moved from the tower when the steam
ironing system is set at its highest
working level.
 Only remove the residual water con-
tainer from the tower when prompted
to do so by the message 

The residual water may still be warm
after the rinsing process.
 Drain the residual water container.
As long as the residual water container
is not inserted into the tower, the dis-
play will show the following message
 
Insert drawer
 Cleaning and drying the residual wa-
ter container.
