A separate electric fuel pump (sometimes referred
to as a low-pressure fuel transfer or lift pump) is not
attached to the fuel tank module. Instead, a gear
supply pump is mounted to the rear of the high-pres-
sure fuel injection pump. This supply pump draws
fuel under a vacuum; through the fuel filter; and
from the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Injection Pump for
additional information.
