Interpreting the Display

The display for this radio contains annunciators, alphanumeric characters, and
status indicators. (See previous page for diagram.)
• Three-color status indicators show the status of the radio:
- Green (flashing): incoming Call/Private Call or Call Alert page
- Red (continuous): radio is transmitting
- Orange (continuous): system/channel is busy; on a secure-equipped radio,
an incoming clear (non-secure) call
• Annunciators are symbols, used as supplemental display indicators, to
remind the user when specific features are active.
• Alphanumeric characters provide messages and menu options to the
user.

Status Annunciators

Up to seven different annunciators (symbols) can appear in the radio's display, as
shown in the illustration on the previous page.

Monitor on (carrier squelch on)
Secure transmit operation enabled. (NOT USED)
Scanning has been turned on.
List view (icon on solid);
list programming (icon flashes)
Your radio is communicating directly with another radio
and not through a repeater. This is referred to as
"talkaround."
The radio has received a page, private call, or has entered
one of these features.
The radio has entered the telephone interconnect feature
or a phone call is being received.
ON = Feature is being accessed. FLASHING = feature pro-
gramming in progress.
