Sending an Emergency Alarm on the Mobile Radio

"Emergency" signals a critical situation where injury to District or other per-
sonnel or destruction of District property is imminent or has already oc-
curred. It should never be used for any other reason.
Note: The emergency button will only work when the radio is positioned in a
trunked talkgroup. The DIRECT 1 and DIRECT 2 positions (C1 & C2) operate in
conventional mode, rendering the emergency button inoperable.
You Do
1. Press the Emergency Button (D)
for .75 seconds.

The Mobile Radio Does
The red LED lights and the emergency
signal is transmitted. A central
acknowledgment (1 beep) indicates
that the alarm was received by the sys-
tem. A console acknowledgment (five
beeps) and an "ACK RECEIVED" in
the display indicate that the alarm was
received by the dispatch console. The
alarm will continue at the dispatch
console until cleared by a dispatcher,
only after communications with the
individual who set off the alarm. The
display will flash alternately between
"EMERGENCY" and the talkgroup
you were using when the (D) button
was pushed.
