Power outage

If power is out for 24 hours, or less, keep the freezer lid
closed to maintain food frozen.
If power is out for more than 24 hours, do the following:
Remove frozen food and store it in a thermal container.
If you don't have one available, either use or store
perishable food.
After the power has been restored or you have removed
the power outlet, turn freezer off for 10 minutes.
During this time, keep freezer lid closed if possible.
REMEMBER: A full freezer remains cold longer than a
partially-full freezer. A freezer full of meat remains colder
longer than a freezer full of cooked food. Should you
observe ice crystals on food, it may be refrozen but quality
and flavor may be affected. If food gets spoiled, throw it out.
