5.5.1 Adjusting the armrest width:
To adjust the width:
• Loosen the two screws (5.0mm Allen key) on the traversing
tube as shown in (Fig. A-5.6).
• Move the armrest receiver brackets to the desired position.
• Tighten the screws firmly prior to use.
NOTE: Please check that the new arm rest position does not
interfere with any seat positioning.

5.6 Adjust the seat plate width

Lift the seat cushion off the Velcro© strips to access the seat
plates.
• Use a 5.0 mm Allen Key, (Hex Wrench).
• Adjust the seat plate width by loosening the four screws,
circled in Fig. 5.7.
• Slide the plates outwards or inwards to achieve the required
seat width.
• The seat width is indicated by the scale that runs alongside
each slot, (Fig.5.7).
• Tighten the four screws securely.
5.6.1 Lift off side cushion
If your Puma 40 is equipped with the Sedeo Ergo seat
cushions you have the ability to swing out and remove the side
support cushion without the use of tools. This facilitates side
transfers especially when the chair is fitted with lateral knee or
hip supports.
To remove the side cushion:
• Pull the plastic lever that is attached to the aluminium seat
side rails backwards, (A-Fig.5.8).
• Swing the back part of the cushion outwards to an angle of
approximately 10°.
• Lift the cushion out from the front pin.
To refit the side cushion:
• Align the pin at the front edge of the seat plate with the hole
of the aluminium side rail.
• Slide the rail onto the pin and swing the side cushion all the
way in, until the latch locks in with an audible click.
• As with all moving parts be careful not to trap your fingers
5.6.2 Adjusting the back plate width.
Lift the back cushion off the Velcro© strips to access the back
plate.
• Use a 5.0 mm Allen Key, (Hex Wrench).
• Loosen all the screws located within the slots.
• Slide the side plates in or out to the required width.
• Use the measuring scale embedded on the back plates for
reference.
• Tighten all bolts securely and fit a backrest cushion onto the
back plate.
