When the controlknobisturned ON, gas willflow intothe burner. The solidstate igniterwillclick
until the gas isignited, (Note: Allburner igniterswinspark regardlessof which burner is being
operated.) If the burnerflame shouldgo out, the automatic reignitionsystemwill automatically
sparkto reignitethatburner. Thisfeatureis providedasaconvenience.
Itis notintended robe
interpreted as a safety feature.
A properlyadjusted burner with clean portswill light withina few seconds. The cone-shaped
flame willbe clear blue in colorwith a clearly defined inner cone. There shouldbe no trace of
yellowin the flame. Ifthe bumer flame isyellow,liftsoff the ports,or isnoisy, the air/gas mixture
may be incorrect. Therefore, contact a service technician to make the needed adjustment.
The infinitesurface controlsprovide flexibilityin heat setting selection. (See page 7)
In case of prolonged power failure, you can manually lightthe surface burner by holdinga lighted
match near the burner ports and slowly turning the control knob counterclockwise (after
depressing) to the HI setting.
Note:
Do notleave cooktopunattendedwhen cookingdudng a powerfailure. Theautomatic
reignitionfeature of your cooktopwill not operate during a powerfailure.
Note:
There is no overhead hood fan so smoke and condensation can gather.
This appliance has been shippedfrom the factorywith Lo and Mad flame settingsadjusted for
use with naturalgas and average installations.There is a wide variety of conditions caused by
altitudeand gas mixturescontrolled by utility companieswhich willvary andaffect the gas flame
and performance. Adjustments shouldbe made at time of installation. If conditionschange,
follow the procedures outlined below to adjust the Lo setting.
1. Light burner and set control knob for low flame.
2, Remove control knob from valve stem.
CAUTION: Never use a metal blade to pry
knob off.
3. Insert a slender, thin-blade screwdriver into
the recessat center of valve stem and engage
blade with slot in adjusting screw.
4. Tumcenterstemadjustingscrewsllghtlytoset
flame size. Note: Turn clockwiseto reduceor
counterclockwiseto increase flame size.
5. Replace control knob when adjustment is
completed.
Proper adjustment will produce a stable, steady blue flame of minimum size. The final
adjustmentshouldbechecked bytuming knobfromHI toLo severaltimeswithoutextinguishing
the flame.
