Read before operating your cooktop
All appliances - regardlessof the manufacturer- have the potentialthrough
improperor careless use to create safety problems, Thereforethe following
safety precautions should be observed:
1. Be sure your applianceis properlyinstalledand groundedby a qualified
technician.
2. Never useyourappliancefor warmingorheatingthe room. Thiswarningis
based on safetyconsiderations.
3. Childrenshouldnotbe leftalone or unattendedin area whereapplianceis
in use. They shouldnever be allowedto sit or stand on any part of the
appliance,
4. Wear properapparel. Loose-fitting or hanging garments shouldnever
be worn whileusingthe appliance.
5. Do not repair or replace any part of the appliance unless specifically
recommended in this manual. All otherservicingshouldbe referredto an
authorizedJenn-AirServiceContractor.
6. Donotstorocombustible materials,gasolineor otherflammablevaporsand
liquidnearcooktop.
7. Donotusewaterongreasefires. Smotherfireorflameorusedrychemical
or foam-type extinguisher.
8. Use onlydry potholders.Moistor damp potholderson hot surfacesmay
resultin burnsfrom steam. Do not use a towel or otherbulkycloth.
9. Selectcookwarelargeenoughtoproperly containfoodand avoidboilovers
orspillovers. Thiswillsaveoncleaning andprevent hazardous accumulations
of food, since heavysplattering or spilloversleft on a cooktopcan ignite.

aretooheavywhenfilledwithfoodcanalsobe a hazard, If panhandlestwist
and cannotbe tightened,discardthe pan.
12. HANDLES- Alwaysturnpanhandlestothe sideorbackof the cooktop- not
out into the room where they are easily hit, COOK3/VARE HANDLES
SHOULD BE TURNED INWARD AND NOT EXTEND OVER ADJACENT
SURFACE BURNERS to minimizeburns,ignitionof flammable materials,
and spillage due to unintentional c ontact with the cook'ware.
