by editing that contact's information and putting in a fake (and clearly
inactive) e-mail address, such as notareal@emailaddress.no.
7. Press the menu key and touch-press Continue.
The name you just entered appears in your group list, as shown in
Figure 4-11.

8. Repeat Step 4 to add more friends to your list.
9. Press the menu key and touch-press Save Group.
Your group is duly saved, and you can now see it listed on your main
contacts list.
Groups is a valuable tool for creating an e-mail distribution list. When adding
members to the group, make sure that you select an e-mail address field for
your members instead of a phone number. Use a naming convention to easily
distinguish your group in the list. Appending -DL or -Distribution List to the
group name can quickly indicate that it is a distribution list.

Using the Filter feature on your contacts

Are you a left-brainer or a right-brainer? Yankees fan or Red Sox fan? Innie
or outie? Dividing the world into categories is something everyone does (no
divisions there), so it should come as no surprise that BlackBerry divides
your contacts into distinct categories as well.
By default, two categories are set for you on the BlackBerry:
✓ Business
✓ Personal
