Connecting a DVD Player to the Television
Most DVD players have both a composite video and YP
a better picture and we recommend that you use this output. If your DVD player does not have YP
output, the next most desirable option is the S-Video Out terminal. Finally, if YP
available, use the normal video output.

The Monitor Out terminals reproduce the signals currently on the television screen. The on-screen signals
could be a television programme or signals connected to one of the AV inputs.
The Monitor Out facility can be used to allow one video source (videotape, videodisc etc.) to be
connected to more than one television. Connect the Monitor out from this television to the AV Input of the
second television.

Monitor Out

If a video recorder is connected to the Monitor Out and video sources are connected to one or more of
the AV inputs, the television becomes a visual display for tape editing or copying.
