Telephony – Dialling Plans:
Defining dialling plans – cost control
You can define dialling plans to reduce costs:
u
You can define a specific connection (fixed line network connection or a VoIP
connection) for specific phone numbers via which these phone numbers are
dialled, and which are used for billing.
If you enter just a few digits (e.g., local area, national or mobile network code)
any call to a number beginning with these digits will be made via the selected
connection.
u
You can block specific phone numbers, i.e. your phone will not establish a con-
nection to these phone numbers (e.g. 09 numbers).
The dialling plans apply to the base and all registered handsets. The send connec-
tion settings are inactive when dialling numbers that are governed by a dialling
plan.
Please note
With the exception of blocks, dialling plans are inactive in the following case:
¤
You assign the select line to a function key on the base (see the detailed user
manual for the base), and explicitly select a send connection from the list of
available connections before dialling.
Tips:
u
Compare the rates for long-distance calls (especially for international calls)
offered by your fixed line network and VoIP providers, and determine which
connection should be used specifically for these countries/locations, e.g., a dial-
ling plan for the Phone Number "0033" would apply to every call made to
France.
u
Use dialling plans to define that numbers starting with a call-by-call number are
always made via your fixed line network connection. To do so, enter the call-by-
call number in the Phone Number field.
