Operating principles

This ceramic cooktop is equipped with electronic sensor
controls which react to finger contact.
To operate a cooking zone, touch the relevant sensor. Each
time you touch a sensor, an audible tone sounds.
When the cooktop is switched off, you can only see the
printed symbols for the On/Off sensor, power settings, system
lock and Stop & Go.
The cooking zone and timer displays light up when the
cooktop is switched on. The displays also act as sensor
controls. If a cooking zone or the timer is being used, setting
2 lights up, otherwise setting 1 will light up.
The cooking zones and the timer have to be "active" when
you want to set or adjust a power setting or the duration.
To activate the cooking zone or the timer, touch the
appropriate sensor of the cooking zone or the timer. The
sensor will then start flashing. While the sensor is flashing, set
or adjust the power setting or the duration.
Exeption:
If there is only one cooking zone in operation, you can set or
adjust the power setting without activating it first.
Take care to keep the control area clean. Do not place
anything on the control area. The sensor controls may fail
to react or they could mistake the article or any dirt for
fingertip contact, thereby activating a function or even
causing the cooktop to switch off automatically (see
"Safety switch-off").
Never place hot pans on the sensor switches. The
electronic unit underneath could get damaged.
