Makecertainthe belt is inthe spindlepulleys of the deck,andthat the
backside of the belt isagainstboththe fixedandmovableidlerpulleys.

Sittingbehindthe tractor,facingforward,makecertainthe belt is not
twisted;thenreachbeneath thetractorto graspthe belt andpullit toward
the PTO pulley.

Use cautionto avoid pinchingyour fingers when rolling the belt onto the
PTO pulley.
Pulltherightsideofthe beltrearward andplace the narrowVsideofthe belt
intothePTO pulley.See Figure 35.
While holding thebeltandpulley together, rotatethepulley tothe left(See Figure
35). C ontinue h olding androtating thepulley andbeltuntilthebeltis fullyrolled
intothePTO pulley.
NOTE: Before usingthetractordouble-check the belt routingto makesurethat
the belthasbeen routedproperly.
Replacing the Belt
1.
Remove t he deckfrom beneath the tractor,(referto Deck Removal).
2.
Remove t he hexwasher screws securing the belt covers to the deck.See
Figure 37.

Remove t he two idler pulleysbyremoving the hexscrews, washers and
flangelocknutsthat secure themto the deckandthe idlerarm.SeeFigure
38.Donot lose anyof the hardware whenremoving the hexscrew and
flangelocknut.

re-installed.

Remove t he beltfrom the spindlepulleys.

Installthe newbelt around the spindlepulleysasshown andreinstallthe
beltcovers. S eeFigure 37.

Place the belt around the idler pulleysremoved in step3with the"V" side
facingin.Once in place, r einstallall the hardware andtightenthe flangelock
nut tosecure the assembly. SeeFigure 39.
