Lower DeckDischarge ChuteDeflector
Checking Tire Pressure
Neveroperate the mowerdeckwithoutthe chutedeflector installed and in
the down position.
Thedischarge c hutedeflectormustbe installed b efore operatingthe mower.

Remove t he keysthat areattached with aziptie to thechutebracket.

Remove t he hexscrews andflat washers from the hardware packinyour
manual b ag.SeeFigure 6.

Withthe previously removed hardware, i nstallthechutedeflectoron the
deckasshownin Figure 6.
Donot overinflate tires.Checksidewallof tires for maximum psi.Equal t ire
pressureshouldbe maintained at all times.
The tiresonyourridingmowermaybeoverinflated forshipping p urposes. Reduce the
tire pressure b efore operating theridingmower. Check s idewall oftiresformaximum psi.
Adjusting the GaugeWheels
Keephandsandfeet awayfrom the dischargeopeningof the cutting deck.
NOTE: Thedeckgaugewheels areananti-scalp featureof the deckandarenot
designed to supportthe weightof the cuttingdeck.
Themowerdeckcuttingheightcanbesetinanyof sixheightsettingsusingthe
riding mower's decklift handle.Thedeckheightsrangefrom 1-1/£ ' to 4".Thedeck
gaugewheelpositionshouldbeapproximately 1/4" t o 1/£, a bove the groundwhen
the deckis setinthe desired heightsetting.
Using the lift handle, s etthe deckin the desired heightsetting,thencheck the
gaugewheeldistance from the groundbelow.Ifnecessary a djustasfollows:
1.
Visuallycheck the distance betweenthefront gaugewheelsandthe ground.
Ifthe gaugewheels arenearor touchingthe ground,they shouldberaised.If
morethan1/2" above the ground,theyshouldbelowered.
2.
Remove t he locknut securing oneof the front gauge wheelhexscrews to the
deck.Remove t he gaugewheel,hexscrew andspacer. R efer t o Figure 7.

Insertthe hexscrewinto the oneof threeindexholesinthe front gauge
wheelbracketthatwill givethe gaugewheela1/4-1/2" clearance w ith the
ground.
4.
Notethe indexholeof thejust adjusted wheel,andadjustthe otherfront
gaugewheelinto the respective indexholeofthe otherfront gaugewheel
bracket.
