IMPORTANT WARNING
Only one appliance may be used per flue.
There must not be an extractor fan fitted in the same room as the stove as this can cause
the stove to emit fumes and smoke into the room - For solid fuel appliances extract
ventilation should not be installed in the same room as an open-flued solid fuel
appliance. If mechanical extraction is un-avoidable then specialist advice to ensure safe
operation of the appliance must be sought.
If the stove is not properly installed, a house fire may result, to reduce the risk of fire,
follow the installation instructions. Failure to follow instructions may result in property
damage, bodily injury, or even death.
Use smoke detectors in the room where the stove is installed. Poor ventilation or excess
time loading the unit may cause these detectors to activate. Therefore place accordingly.
By law a carbon monoxide alarm/detector must be installed as per manufacturer's
instructions. This alarm/detector should incorporate a visual and audible indicator to alert
users when the working life of the alarm is due to pass.
Never use petroleum based products to start or 'freshen up' a fire in the stove. Use of
volatile fuels will cause an unsafe condition and cause the stove to over fire and will void
your extended warranty.
A discoloured vent may be caused by carbon monoxide – this must be investigated
immediately.
Inadequate ventilation can result in a negative pressure in the room resulting in an unsafe
condition including smoke going into the room.
Only use fuel in accordance with our guidelines as this may lead to the stove over firing
causing damage to the wearable parts and/or stove – failure to adhere to our fuel
guidelines will void the extended warranty.
In the event of a power failure – Do not continue to fuel and/or use the stove, close all the
dampers and DO NOT refuel. Turn the stove thermostat/dampers to zero.
2.2 INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
These instructions cover the basic guidelines to ensure satisfactory installation of the stove,
although installation may need slight modification to suit particular local site conditions. In all
cases the installation must comply with current Building Regulations (Technical Guidance
Document F, J & L) It is required that the stove be installed by an experienced & accredited
installer that is familiar with Boru products.
