14. TEST & REPAIR OF DOOR GASKET (ROPE SEAL)
You will need to replace the rope seal a minimum of once a year using the following steps:
Remove the original rope seal by grasping an end and pulling firmly
Wearing safety goggles and gloves use a wire brush to clean the rope channel of any
remaining adhesive or bits of rope
Starting at the bottom centre of the door apply rope adhesive generously into the rope
channel
Do not over tension the rope when laying it into the channel
Ensure both ends of the rope connect to form a snug & sealed joint
Allow 24 hours to dry before lighting the stove

15. ASH REMOVAL
You should always wear protective gloves when removing ash
If possible, this should be done before lighting the stove when the ash is cold
To empty the ash, riddle the ash into the ash pan. When the ash pan is full remove it using
the multi tool provided
To remove the ash, open the stove door and use the multi-tool provided to lift the ash pan
out of the stove – see page 26 for diagram
Even if the ash appears to be cold, it should be placed in a non-combustible lidded
container as there may be hot ash in the centre of the pile. Close the lid of the container
The closed container of ashes should be placed on a non-combustible floor or on the
ground, well away from all combustible materials, pending final disposal
Always close the stove door when you have taken out the ash tray and leave closed while
disposing of the ash
Only re-open the door to put ash pan back into the stove and close immediately afterwards
Do not place any other waste in the container
This stove is NOT designed to operate with the door open
