Your phone has two views, start screen and apps menu. To switch between the views, swipe left or right.

Start screen: The animated live tiles show your missed calls and received messages, the latest
news.

Apps menu: All your apps are listed here, all neatly ordered. If you have a lot of apps, to look
one up, tap Search.
Add widget or shortcut
To customize the Home screen, follow these steps:
1. Swipe left on the start screen.
2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
3. Tap start+theme.
4. Tap Background, then choose light or dark.
5. Tap Accent color, then choose from available colors.
6. Tap choose photo to set a photo as the screen background.

To change the background photo, follow these steps
1. On the start screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
2. Tap ALL SETTINGS > lock screen.
3. Tap change photo.
4. Choose photo location and tap desired photo or background.
5. Adjust to get the best possible fit, and tap the check mark to save.
Lock screen wallpaper
To customize the lock screen, follow these steps:
1. On the start screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
2. Tap ALL SETTINGS > lock screen.
3. Tap the Background box.
4. Tap to select from the following backgrounds.
Keyboard
Enter symbols & numbers
To enter symbols and numbers with the keyboard, follow these steps:
1. From the alphabet keyboard, tap the &123 key.
2. Tap the desired symbol(s) or number(s).
3. To see additional symbols, tap the Arrow key.
4. To access emoticons, tap the smiley face key.
5. Tap abcd to switch back to the alphabet keyboard.
