Setup wizard
To set up your phone you'll need to sign into your Microsoft account. If you are unsure whether or not you
already have one, or if you have more than one and need to choose between them, go to
www.windowsphone.com
Create new Microsoft account
To set up your Nokia Windows phone and create a new Microsoft account, follow these steps:
1. Power on the phone.
2. Choose your language, then tap next.
3. Review the Let's start screen, then tap next.
4. Review Terms of Use, then tap accept.
5. Tap a network to connect to Wi-Fi, or tap skip to set up Wi-Fi later.
6. Update Wi-Fi Sense selections as desired, then tap next.
7. Tap recommended when the Choose phone settings screen appears.
8. Set time and region, then tap next.
9. Tap create one to create a new Microsoft account.
10. Complete the Create account screen:
1. Enter your First name and Last name.
2. Enter your Username.
3. Select your domain.
4. Enter your password.
5. Reenter your password.
6. Tap next.
11. Update account details, then tap next.
12. Update security info, then tap next.
13. Select preferences, then tap next.
14. Tap yes to set up your backup options, or not now to do this later.
15. Tap sure to set up Cortana or not now, thanks to do this later.
16. Tap next to the Almost done... screen.
17. If desired, tap the Join the Nokia Improvement Program box.
18. Tap next to complete the setup.
Use existing Microsoft account
To set up your Nokia Windows phone with an existing Microsoft account, follow these steps:
1. Power on the phone.
2. Choose your language, then tap next.
3. Review the Let's start screen, then tap next.
4. Review Terms of Use, then tap accept.
5. Tap a network to connect to Wi-Fi or tap skip to set up Wi-Fi later.
6. Update Wi-Fi Sense selections as desired, then tap next.
7. Tap recommended when the Choose phone settings screen appears.
8. Set time and region, then tap next.
9. Tap sign in to use an existing Microsoft account.
10. Enter your Email address and Password, then tap next.
11. When the We've verified your account screen appears, tap next.
12. When the Restore phone screen appears, tap Windows Phone to restore data from a previous
phone or don't restore to start fresh with this phone.
