Terraneo INTRODUCTION WARNINGS AND TIPS Before proceeding with the installation read this manual carefully, because the guarantee will be automatically cancelled as a result of negligence, incorrect operation, improper use or tampering with the circuit by unauthorised people. The switchboard can be installed on the wall or on a table using the inclined base supplied. In video door entry units, the video section item 334402 can be fitted by the side of the switchboard to allow the display of the entrance panel (EP) from which the call has been made.

Digital system INTRODUCTION Keypad For some functions the keypad can type both numbers and letters. To do this press the same button several times. As an example on pressing button 2 A-B-C-2 appears on the display in succession; pressing a different button the display cursor moves to the next letter. To type letters of the same button in sequence, move the display cursor to the next letter using the button as shown in the example.
Terraneo INTRODUCTION GENERAL DESCRIPTION The switchboard can only be connected to a TERRANEO digital door entry or video door entry system. The Switchboard has the following main functions: ● call an IU ● receive calls from the EP and, if necessary, put them through to the IU ●...
Digital system INTRODUCTION First connection After installing the porter Switchboard, for it to be operative, some functions must be personalised. This can be done by means of guided menus shown on the Exchange display, which can be reached from the PROGRAMMING MENU ( chapter 3 ). The following functions must thus be personalised ( for basic use ): ●...
Terraneo 2.1 CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS The following functions characterise the Exchange and its operation. They can all be accessed directly without using the menus. 2.1.1 Call to the Exchange When the Exchange receives the call: ● it emits an audible signal ( different for calls from EP or IU ) ●...
Digital system 2.1 CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS 2.1.3 How to put through a call from EP to IU When the Exchange receives a call from EP, the display shows the NUMBER and NAME of the station making the call ( only if entered in the EXTERNAL DIRECTORY ).
Terraneo 2.1 CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS 2.1.4 How to answer a call from IU When the Exchange receives a call from IU, the display shows ( in standard mode ) the NUMBER and NAME of the internal unit making the call or ( in coded mode ) the CODE.
Digital system 2.1 CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS 2.1.6 How to call an IU in the call queue To call the IU in the call queue: ● select the internal to be called by means of the buttons ( if the IU has called several times, only the first call is saved ): ●...
Terraneo 2.2 SYSTEM FUNCTIONS This section describes the system functions possible on the Exchange. The behaviour and availability of some functions depends on which devices make up the system and their programming. When the Exchange is idle ( no conversation is in progress and there are no unanswered calls in the queue ) one can: ●...

Terraneo 2.2 SYSTEM FUNCTIONS 2.2.3 Putting calls through to slave internal unit The porter Switchboard can put the calls from the EP through to an slave internal unit ( e.g. caretaker’s house ). When this service is active, the calls from EP ring at the Exchange and the slave internal unit at the same time.
Digital system 2.2 SYSTEM FUNCTIONS 2.2.3 DAY/NIGHT operating mode The porter Switchboard can work in two operating modes: ● DAY mode ● NIGHT mode In DAY mode the Exchange receives all the calls from the EP and can transfer them to the In NIGHT mode the Exchange does not receive calls.
Terraneo 2.3 ALARM SIGNALS The porter Switchboard can receive alarm signals from: ● APARTMENTS ● COMMON PARTS When the Exchange receives an alarm: ● it emits a particularly annoying audible signal. The signal is silenced by calling the apartment ( in the case of a PANIC alarm ) or with the ok button in other cases;...
Digital system 2.3 ALARM SIGNALS 2.3.1 Signals from IU The porter Switchboard can receive 3 types of alarm from the apartments: PANIC ALARM this signal has priority over all other Exchange functions. When there is a panic alarm the Exchange can only call the IU which has generated the alarm, cancel the alarm or receive a new panic alarm signal.
Terraneo 2.3 ALARM SIGNALS BURGLAR this signal has priority over the call signals from IU. Without programming anything the porter Switchboard signals, associating them with an indication of the IU from which they come, the following alarms of the burglar alarm...
Digital system PROGRAMMING This chapter is intended for trained personnel who will program the porter Switchboard after its installation using guided menus shown on the display which can be accessed from the main menu. The user can use these functions to vary some Exchange settings (e.g.: language, secret code, date/time, etc.).

Digital system ADVANCED CONFIGURATIONS AND PROGRAMMINGS This chapter deals with special system functions or configurations which have been implement and tested to satisfy special requests from the market. 4.1 CONFIGURATIONS AND ADDRESSING To understand these special functions better one must be familiar with some details of the protocol and addressing of devices in the video door entry system.
Terraneo 4.3 SYSTEMS WITH SEVERAL EXCHANGES 4.3.1 Systems with Exchanges in parallel In systems with exchanges in parallel the calls are received by several exchanges at the same time. The first exchange which replies starts to talk to the caller and interrupts the call on the others.
Digital system 4.3 SYSTEMS WITH SEVERAL EXCHANGES 4.3.2 Systems with independent exchanges A system with independent Exchanges is a system where there are several Exchanges with different functions and roles ( e.g.: central porter’s office, night watchman, technical room ) and the calls from EP or IU only reach the Exchange called and not all the Exchanges at the same time.
Terraneo 4.4 SYSTEMS WITH ISOLATED RISER EP In video door entry systems the Exchange cannot intercept the call of the secondary isolated riser EP ( foot of stairs ) during DAY operation. If this function is necessary ( e.g.: system without main entrance panel or manned entrance ) the Exchange can manage the DAY/NIGHT operation of the foot of stairs only in systems where no cameras are installed on the main stretch ( e.g.: common video EP, CCTV cameras,...
