OPERATION
TO MAKE EXTENDED MITER CUTS
See Figures 36 - 38.
The extended miter capacity of the saw allows you to make
miter cuts up to 70
°
. Using the miter extension tables, you
can cut 22.5° miters for acute 45° corners.
The rotating extension tables can be set to one of three
positions, depending on the desired type of cut.
Use the rotating extension tables when making miter cuts
greater than 45°.
 Make sure the slide lock knob is tightened securely.
 Raise saw arm to its full height.
 Slide out the fence on the side opposite of where the cut
will be made. This ensures that the bevel lock bracket
will not bump against the fence when setting the blade
for extended miter cuts.
 To rotate the extension tables outward, press the table
lock button and select one of the preset positions.
 Release the table lock button and move the table until it
locks into position.
 Lift the miter lock lever to unlock the miter table and press
the detent bypass button. Rotate the miter table until the
pointer aligns with the desired angle on the miter scale.
 Push the miter lock lever down to lock the miter table.
 Align cutting line on the workpiece with the edge of saw
blade.
 Turn the LED switch on to project the blade shadow onto
the workpiece.
WARNING:
For extended miter cuts, place the clamp on the
large miter angle side of the table. Clamping or
holding the workpiece on the small miter angle side
of the table may place your hand too close to the
blade and cause serious personal injury.
 Grasp the stock firmly with one hand and secure it against
the fence. Use the work clamp or a C-clamp to secure
the workpiece when possible.
 Before turning on the saw, perform a dry run of the cut-
ting operation to make sure that no problems will occur
when the cut is made.
 Grasp the saw handle firmly. Turn on the switch and allow
several seconds for the blade to reach maximum speed.
 Slowly lower the blade into and through the workpiece.
 Release the switch trigger and allow the saw blade to
stop rotating before raising the blade out of workpiece
and removing the workpiece from the miter table.
