The type of C ell Re- s electi on dep ends on wh ether or not the servin g cell (t he cur rent ly used Test
Set ) n eeds t o know t hat t he mob ile is leaving t he serving cell. I f t he mobil e is e ngaged in a gro up
call a nd it is n ot t ransmit ting (i. e. it is one of a number of mo biles t hat are receivi ng) then the
servin g cell does no t ne ed t o be notif ied, i.e. the mobile does n ot n eed t o anno unce t hat it is
per formin g C ell R e-se lection .
To test unannou nced C ell Re- selectio n:
1.
Set up a gr oup ca ll on the curr ently used T est S et wit h th e mobile rece iving, and V eri fy
othe r T est S et is gene rati ng MC CH .
2.
Set the R F Gener ator Leve ls on the T est S ets as re quire d to satisf y the condit ions f or
Ce ll R e-sele ction and w ait for th e mobile to decide to p erfo rm un announce d C ell R e-
selecti on.

the mobile tra nsmittin g, an d V erif y othe r T est S et is gene rati ng MC CH .

Re -select ion an d w ait for the mobile to d ecide t o per for m anno unced C ell Re- selecti on.
The curr ently used T est S et indicat es Mobile Re -Se lected Cel l (T ype 3) / MC C H.
