16-Channel Digital Video Recorder
Appendix 8 — Time Synchronization
In general, each DVR system may have a different time because of the accuracy of its internal clock. The Time
Synchronization function synchronizes the time between POST systems and any time server when they are
networked. Any POST system or BASE system can run as a time server. Also you can use a standard time server
provided by each country.
NOTE: Visit http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~mills/ntp/clock1.htm for finding a standard time server.
SmartGuard Setup – System
Click the Set up Time Sync... button.
Move to Server, and enter the IP address of target time server. If you want to synchronize the time between the
POST system and a time server automatically, check the Automatic box; otherwise, synchronize the time manually
by clicking the Sync now... button. The user can set up the synchronization interval from 1 to 300 minutes.
NOTE: When selecting Automatic (automatic time synchronization), the system time will synchronize with the
server time at a fixed time every hour. If there is more than a 0.5 second gap between the system and the server,
the system time will be changed, and the event will be recorded on the system log if there is more than a 1.0
second gap.
Check the Run as a server box when you want the DVR to run as a time server.
