Description of the machine

Construction

The PF/FF 400 is a so-called vertical stand milling ma-
chine. A stable, generously sized column accommoda-
tes the milling head consisting of motor, gearbox and
spindle unit. Also fitted are the drill feed on the milling
head itself as well as the hand wheel feed on the co-
lumn for the precise adjustment of the machining
height. The drill feed also allows drilling work to be car-
ried out. The electrical equipment is accommodated in
the gearbox and the operator controls are situated on
the front of the gearbox. The milling unit can optionally
be combined with a compound table (supplied with the
KT 400 as the FF 400, but can also be used with the
KT 250) or with the PD 400 lathe system (PF 400). In
this case, the milling machine can be screwed to the
machine bed and the milling table provided with it is fi-
xed on the support of the lathe.
