Note: If the door handles are pulled
repeatedly during a short period of time
without the presence of a valid passive key,
the system will become inoperable for 30
seconds.
The passive entry system will not function
if:
The passive key frequencies are
jammed.
The passive key battery is flat.
Note: If the passive entry system does not
function, you will need to use the key blade
to lock and unlock your vehicle.
The keyless system allows the driver to
operate the vehicle without the use of a
key or remote control.
Passive locking and unlocking requires a
valid passive key to be located within one
of the three external detection ranges.
These are located approximately one and
a half meters from the driver and front
passenger door handles and the luggage
compartment lid.
Passive key
The vehicle can be locked and unlocked
with the passive key. The passive key can
also be used as a remote control. See
Locking and Unlocking (page 32).

Locks
Locking the vehicle
The vehicle does not lock itself
automatically. If no locking button is
pressed, the vehicle will remain
unlocked.
Note: The ignition will automatically switch
off when you lock your vehicle from the
outside. This is to prevent the vehicle battery
from discharging.
Note: If locking from the luggage
compartment lid, the passive key must be
within the luggage compartment lid
detection range.
Locking buttons are located on each of the
front doors and the luggage compartment
lid.
