Blocking the Drive Shaft

N
Insert the stop pin (1) in the bore (2)
in the gearhead as far as stop, apply
slight pressure.
N Rotate the shaft until the stop pin
slips into position.
FS 300, FS 350, FS 400, FS 450, FS 480
Removing the Mounting Hardware

N Block the drive shaft.
N Use the combination wrench (1) to
loosen and remove the nut (2)
clockwise.
N Remove the rider plate (3) and
thrust washer (4) (where fitted).
Mounting the Guard Ring

The guard ring (1, 4) is included in the
scope of supply or available as a special
accessory.
For optimum protection from the ingress
of grass when using mowing tools:
N Mount the guard ring (1) for mowing
applications, fit the thrust plate (2)
and thrust washer (3).
Before mounting a circular saw blade:
N Remove the guard washer (3) and
thrust plate (2).
N Remove the guard ring (1) for
mowing applications.
N Fit the guard ring (4) for saw blades.
N Fit the thrust plate (2).
