CONTROLS
E. Engine Switch – The engine switch enables and
disables the ignition system. The engine switch
must be in the ON position for the engine to run.
Turning the engine switch to the OFF position stops
the engine.
F. Choke Lever - The choke lever opens and closes
the choke valve in the carburetor. The CLOSED
position enriches the fuel mixture for starting a cold
engine. The OPEN position provides the correct fuel
mixture for operation after starting, and for restarting
a warm engine.
G. Fuel Valve Lever - The fuel valve opens and closes
the connection between the fuel tank and the
carburetor. The fuel valve lever must be in the ON
position for the engine to run. When the engine is
not in use, leave the fuel valve lever in the OFF
position to prevent carburetor flooding and to reduce
the possibility of fuel leakage.
Note: Before tipping mower back for adjustments,
the fuel lever must be moved to the OFF position to
prevent fuel from leaking into the crankcase.
H. Drive Joint Clutch Lever - Point lever forward (H
to engage the drive joint clutch. Point lever back

) to disengage.

J. Traction Clutch Lever - Point lever down (J
disengage traction drive and allow drum to "free-
wheel". Point lever up (J
Note: Differential shaft will continue to turn with
Traction Clutch disegaged.
K. Reel Clutch Lever - Point lever forward (K
engage the reel drive mechanism. Point lever back
(K
) to disengage the reel.

To prevent bodily injury or property damage,
never engage the drive joint, reel or traction clutch
levers while the engine is running or the O.P.C.
bail is engaged.

Keep hands and feet away from the cutting unit to
prevent serious cuts.
