Replacing the lamp in your generator car

O
ne internal lamp is used to create the
ventilating fan effect in your gen-
erator car. During the course of normal
operations, you may find that this lamp
requires replacement. Refer to Figure
13. Replacement lamps (Lionel part no.
available from your Factory
6000363300) are
Trained Lionel Service Station, or from Lionel
Customer Service. See Instructions for
Obtaining Service on page 28 for more infor-
mation.
1. Remove the screw from the end of the
car.
2. Lift the end of the body off the frame and
slide it backward to disengage the tabs
from the slots in the body.
3. Remove the two screws and nuts from
the underside of the car and lift away the
light cover retainer and the light cover.
4. Press down and rotate the expired lamp
counter-clockwise, then slide it up and
out of the socket.
5. Press the replacement lamp down into
the socket, then rotate the lamp clock-
wise to lock it in place.
6. Replace the lamp cover and retainer,
securing the retainer with the two screws
and nuts.
7. With the doors closed, replace the body
on the frame. Insert the frame tabs into
the body slots, then replace the screw on
the end of the car.
To prevent damage to the Generator Car frame and body, do not overtighten the screw.
