Installation - extraction ducting

General

,
The dryer must only run if the
moist exhaust air from the drying
process is conducted outside by an
installed exhaust duct vent.
,
Disconnect the dryer from the
power supply during installation of
the exhaust duct.
The dryer must be disconnected from
the mains electricity supply while the
ducting system is installed.
The venting outlet (e.g. in a wall) should
be installed in such a way that the moist
expelled air:
. . .cannot be drawn back into the room
in which the dryer is installed;
. . . cannot cause any damage to the
building or other nuisance.
,
The room air, which is taken in
when the dryer is in operation, is
blown out via the exhaust vent. It is
important, particularly if the room is
small, to ensure adequate ventilation
and air supply opening a window or
installing unlockable ventilation
openings in the wall., for example,
will allow more air to enter the room.
Otherwise drying times and energy
consumption may increase.
Danger of suffocation by suction of
exhaust fumes.
46
Ventilation can be maintained by:
– an open window,
– air inlets in the external wall of a
minimum of 59 ft.
cannot be closed or blocked, or
– a window switch which prevents the
dryer being used when the window is
closed.
Avoid:
– very long ducting systems.
– too many tight bends or corners.
Otherwise the drying result will be less
effective, and it will take longer and use
more energy.
Suitable materials
– for the ventilation ducting:
flexible ducting* or plastic piping
with a diameter of at least 4"
(100 mm).
– for venting to the outside:
a wall vent kit* or a window vent kit*.
