time. Do not pull out the starter rope
all the way – it might otherwise
break.
Do not let the starter grip snap back.

Guide it slowly back into the housing
so that the starter rope can rewind
properly.
When the engine begins to fire
If the engine is cold:
Set the choke lever (5) to j and
N
continue cranking until the engine
runs.
If the engine is warm
Continue cranking until the engine
N
runs.
As soon as the engine runs
Blip the throttle trigger (3). The
N
Master Control lever (4) moves to
the run position F and the engine
settles down to idling speed.

NOTICE
As the chain brake is still engaged, the
engine must be returned to idling speed
immediately or the engine housing and
chain brake might otherwise be
damaged.
Pull the hand guard back toward the
N
handlebar. The chain brake is now
disengaged – your saw is ready for
operation.
NOTICE
Always disengage chain brake before
accelerating the engine. High revs with
the chain brake engaged (chain locked)
will quickly damage the powerhead and
chain drive (clutch, chain brake).
Always check operation of chain
N
lubrication before starting work.
At very low outside temperatures
Open throttle slightly – warm up the
N
engine for short period.
Stopping the Engine
Move the Master Control lever to 0
N
or STOP.
If fuel tank has been run completely dry
and then refueled
After refueling, press the fuel pump
N
bulb at least five times – even if the
bulb is filled with fuel.
If the engine does not start
Engine is flooded
If you did not move the choke lever to
warm start j quickly enough after the
engine began to fire, the combustion
chamber is flooded.
Move the Master Control lever to 0
N
or STOP.
