WIRELESS FLASH

When the flash is used at a location far from the camera, the
creative possibilities are expanded. The EF-630 is controlled
remotely by the camera's built-in flash or a separate Master
flash unit.
WIRELESS TTL FLASH
In wireless TTL mode, the camera is controlled so the camera
is automatically set to the appropriate exposure.
WHEN USING A CAMERA WITHOUT AN INTEGRATED FLASH
(sd Quattro, etc.)
Two EF-630s (FOR SIGMA) are necessary. The flash attached
to the camera is called [Master unit], and the flash used at a
distance from the camera is called [Slave unit].
MASTER UNIT SETTINGS
1. Set the Flash mode to [WL
2. Set the channel if necessary.
(Select Ch.1 to Ch.3 in the Mode
details area.)
SLAVE UNIT SETTINGS
3. Set the Flash mode to [WL
4. In the Mode details area, set the
same channel as that of the
Master unit.
5. Set the flash for firing. Check the
completion of charging and start shooting. (Completion of
charging is notified by the blinking of the AF assist light.)

SLAVE
Please set the flash unit between 0.5m~ 5m (1.6~ 16ft) from
the subject, and set the camera body between 1m~ 5m (1.6~
16ft) from the subject.
The Master unit fires in order to control the Slave unit and
does not influence photograph.
When setting a Slave unit at the desired position, you can
use mini-stand. This mini-stand has a screw hole for a tripod.
The EF-630 can also be used in combination with the
EF-610 DG SUPER SA-STTL. In this case, use the EF-610
DG SUPER as the Master unit. (For setting this as the
Master unit, please follow the EF-610 DG SUPER SA-STTL
instruction manual.)
WHEN USING A CAMERA WITH AN INTEGRATED FLASH
(SD1 / SD1 Merrill, etc.)
1. Set the camera's flash setting to the wireless flash mode and
set the channels if necessary. (For details of how to change
these settings, follow the camera's instruction manual.)
2. Set the Flash mode to [WL
3. In the Mode details setting area,
set the same channel as that of
the camera.
4. Position the flash for firing. Ensure
both flashes are charged and
ready for firing, then start shooting.
The camera's built-in flash fires in order to control the Slave
unit and does not influence the photograph.
