Status lights

The status lights provide different information depending on whether the MSM422 is
operating in autonomous mode or controlled mode. For more information on these modes,
see
Controlled mode and autonomous mode on page

Autonomous mode

In autonomous mode, the status lights provide the following information:
Light
State
Power
Off
On
Blinking
Info
On
Ethernet
Off
Blinking
Radio 1, 2
Blinking

Controlled mode

During startup/discovery in controlled mode, the status lights provide the following
information:
Status light behavior
Power light blinks once every two
seconds.
Power light blinks once per second.
Power light, Info light, and Ethernet light
blink in sequence from left to right.
Power light is on. Info and Ethernet
lights blink alternately.
Description
The MSM422 has no power.
The MSM422 is powered-on and is fully operational.
The MSM422 is starting up. If the Power light continues to blink
after several minutes, it indicates that the software failed to load.
Reset or power cycle the MSM422. If this condition persists,
contact HP Support.
The MSM422 is fully operational.
The port is not connected or there is no activity.
The port is transmitting or receiving data.
The radio is transmitting or receiving data.
Description
The MSM422 is starting up.
The MSM422 is looking for an IP address, or
building the list of VLANs on which to perform
controller discovery. The management tool is
available until discovery occurs.
The MSM422 has obtained an IP address and is
attempting to discover a controller.
The MSM422 has found a controller and is
attempting to establish a secure management
tunnel with it.
