Troubleshooting HPE MSA 1040/2040 Storage
Symptom
The supercapacitor pack is
nearing end-of-life.
The indicated disk type is invalid
and is not enabled in the current
configuration.
An enclosure management
processor (EMP) detected a
serious error.
A timeout occurs while flushing
the CompactFlash.
The CompactFlash hardware
detected an error.
The controller module's
CompactFlash card has failed.
The coin battery is not present
or is not properly seated or has
reached end-of-life.
The FRU ID SEEPROM for the
indicated FRU cannot be read.
FRU ID data might not be
programmed.
A temperature sensor on a
controller FRU detected an
over-temperature condition that
caused the controller to
shutdown.
The indicated controller module
has failed. This event can be
ignored for a single-controller
configuration.
The indicated FRU has failed or
is not operating correctly. This
event follows some other
FRU-specific event indicating a
problem.
A hardware failure occurred: XOR
error.
The indicated available disk has
failed.
Power-On Self-Test (POST)
diagnostics detected a hardware
error.
The controller detected that the
configured host-port link speed

A module or blank plate resides in every module
slot in the enclosure
If none of these conditions apply, replace the
controller module that reported the error.
Replace on first occurrence.
