Available flash settings by recording mode
The available flash settings depend on the
recording mode.
(○ : Available, — : Not available, ◎ : Initial
setting)
Û2 It becomes Forced Flash ON [
when the backlight compensation
function is activated.
The flash setting may change when you
change the recording mode. Change the
flash setting again if necessary.
Flash settings are retained even if you
switch the camera off. However, scene
mode flash settings return to the factory
settings when you change the scene mode.

The available focus range differs
depending on the recording mode.
When you use the flash when you
have set ISO sensitivity to [AUTO], ISO
sensitivity automatically becomes a
maximum of [ISO1000]. ([ISO400] in the
[BABY1]/[BABY2] modes and [ISO800] in
the [PET] or [SPORTS] modes)
The edges of the picture may appear
dark if you shoot a very close subject with
the flash while the zoom lever is close to
the W side. Zoom in slightly if this occurs.
Available flash range varies depending
on ISO sensitivity in [HIGH SENS.].
