General information 1.1 Information about the instruction manual This instruction manual contains information about the installation, operation and maintenance of the device and should be consulted as an important source of information and reference guide.     5. Installation and operation 5.1 Safety instructions WARNING! Electrical hazard! The device must only be connected to a properly installed single socket with protective contact. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet. Cable must not touch any hot parts. • See that the cable does not touch any heat sources or sharp edges.

    • Do not use metallic pots, pans or covers. Metal may lead to sparks in the cooking chamber. Use only dishes resistant to high temperatures, designed for use in microwave ovens (see sec. 5.4). Risk of fire! • During the heating of liquids in the microwave oven it is possible that the liquid may reach boiling temperature without externally visible bubbling.

    5.3 Guidelines for cooking with the microwave oven Instead of traditional heat sources, a microwave oven applies an electron lamp which emits electromagnetic waves. These waves, like radio waves, are invisible but their effects can be observed. Such waves can pass through materials such as glass, porcelain, artificial materials and paper.

    6. Wide, flat containers are best suited to use in the microwave oven as compared to narrow and tall ones. Food products cook evenly in flat dishes. 7. To avoid food from baking onto the edge of dishes, you may cover the edges with thin strips of aluminum foil.

    Saving cooking programs on number/memory buttons You can save frequently used programs on the number/memory buttons so you can activate them at the push of a button. Each number/memory button has a default cooking program assigned to it. When the device is ready for operation, you can select a program by pushing one of the 10 buttons.

Due to the varying thickness and shape of foods, it is not advisable to completely defrost food in the microwave oven, as this may result in irregular defrosting. There may also be dripping and some spots may be cooked while others are still frozen. When using frozen food, you should therefore only defrost the food to 70% with the microwave oven.

Cleaning and maintenance 6.1 Safety advice o Before beginning with repair or cleaning works make sure the device has been disconnected from power socket (pull the power plug!!!) and has cooled down. o Do not use any acid agents and make sure no water ingresses the device. o To protect yourself from electric shock, never immerse the device, its cables and the plug in water or other liquids.
