Maintenance

ATTENTION!
Work on the compact domestic ventilation unit (exhaust air) may only be
performed by qualified personnel. Observe accident prevention
regulations!
ATTENTION!
Disconnect the power supply before opening the compact domestic
ventilation unit (exhaust air); observe possible coasting of ventilator.
The compact domestic ventilation unit (exhaust air) requires little
maintenance.
However, the degree of contamination of the ventilator and the
evaporator (e.g. in the case of dusty exhaust air) must be
checked periodically. Clean with a vacuum cleaner or similar de-
vice according to need.
Furthermore, a visual inspection for possible leakage in the water
system or stopping-up of the condensate outflow should be car-
ried out a few days after start-up.
9.1 Water Circuit / Condensate
Outflow
The inspection of the water circuit is limited to filter contamination
and possible leaks. If the filter is badly clogged, it must be
cleaned or replaced according to need.
The seal valve in the condensed water hose should be checked
for contamination approx. once a month, and replaced if neces-
sary.

9.2 Air Circuit

Maintenance work is limited to cleaning the evaporator on a reg-
ular basis according to need.
ATTENTION!
Risk of injury caused by sharp-edged fins. Fins must not be deformed or
damaged!
If air filters are used, they should be regularly checked for con-
tamination and cleaned and replaced if necessary.

9.3 Corrosion Protection Anode

The corrosion protection anode installed in the hot water cylinder
should be electrically checked on a regular basis, at least
every two years after start-up, and be replaced if necessary.
Electrical checking is carried out by means of a suitable amme-
ter, without draining the cylinder.
Procedure:
Unplug the PE cable from the protection anode tab.
Connect the ammeter (0 to 50 mA) between the PE cable
and the tab.
Evaluation of protection anode wear:
Measured value > 1 mA ⇒ Protection anode is in working
order.
Measured value < 1 mA ⇒ Protection anode must be
checked or replaced.
If electrical testing does not provide any clear results, a visual in-
spection of the protection anode by a technician is recom-
mended.
E-10
Should replacement of the protection anode [by a technician] be
necessary, the cylinder must be drained via the valve provided
(to be fitted during installation - see Appendix).
ATTENTION!
Malfunctioning protection anodes reduce the operating life of the device!
(Reactive anode: electrically insulated magnesium anode with core
according to DIN 4753 Part 6)
10 Faults / Trouble-
Shooting
ATTENTION!
Work on the compact domestic ventilation unit (exhaust air) may only be
performed by qualified personnel. Observe accident prevention
regulations!
The heat pump will not operate!
Please check whether
the operating switch on the remote control is switched on.
the "heat pump" switch on the device is switched on.
the heat pump has not been switched off via the temperature
controller.
the hot water temperature is not higher than 55 °C.
the operating limits of the exhaust air temperature have not
been undershot or exceeded.
the system is in defrosting mode.
voltage is applied to the device.
Condensate cannot flow away!
Please check
the seal valve in the condensed water hose - clean it, if nec-
essary (the valve can be easily removed and replaced).
whether the minimum height difference between the con-
densed water hose outlet and the siphon was observed.
whether the ventilation is extremely reduced (bent ducts /
clogged air filters).
If the above questions cannot help you eliminate these faults,
please contact your technician or after-sales service.

11 Shut-Down

Tasks to be carried out:
Disconnect the power supply of the compact domestic ven-
tilation unit (exhaust air).
Completely shut off the water circuit (hot water, cold water
and circulation pipe) and drain the hot water cylinder.
12 Environmental
Requirements
During start-up and shut-down of the compact domestic ventila-
tion unit (exhaust air), all environmental requirements regarding
recovery, recycling and disposal of materials and components
should be observed in accordance with DIN EN 378.
