These numbers must always be quoted when ordering spare parts. We recommend checking that the chassis registration number stamped on the vehicle corresponds with that on the vehicle documentation.

    MSS X10 500ie Executive Maintenance RESET SERVICE WARNING LIGHT At vehicle ignition, immediately after the ignition check, if there are less than 300 km (187.5 miles) to the next scheduled service, the corresponding icon flashes for 5 seconds. Once the service mile- age has been reached, the icon remains steadily on until it is reset.

    MSS X10 500ie Executive Maintenance Checking the spark advance The ignition advance is determined electronically on the basis of parameters known by the control unit. For this reason it is not possible to interpret the reference values based on the engine rpm.

    MSS X10 500ie Executive Maintenance - Connect the diagnostic tester. - Start the engine. - Select the «Parameters» function in this menu. - Set the stroboscopic light control to the traditional four-stroke engine position (1 spark, 2 revs). - Check that the real values of rpm and ignition advance match those measured using the diag- nostic tester.
  • Page 29 MSS X10 500ie Executive Maintenance SPARK PLUGS MUST BE REMOVED WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD. SPARK PLUGS MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS ARE DESCRIBED IN THE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE TABLE. USING NON-CONFORMING ELECTRONIC CEN- TRAL UNITS AND ELECTRONIC IGNITIONS OR SPARK PLUGS OTHER THAN THOSE PRESCRIBED MAY SERI- OUSLY DAMAGE THE ENGINE.
  • Page 30 MSS X10 500ie Executive Maintenance Replacement - Remove the oil filler plug «A». - Unscrew the oil drainage cap «B» and drain out all the oil. - Screw in the drainage cap again and fill the hub with the prescribed oil.

    MSS X10 500ie Executive Maintenance AGIP FILTER OIL OIL FOR AIR FILTER SPUNGE Mineral oil with specific additives for increased ad- hesiveness Engine oil In four stroke engines, the engine oil is used to lubricate the timing elements, the bench bearings and the thermal group.
  • Page 32 MSS X10 500ie Executive Maintenance Make sure the pre-filter and drainage plug O-rings are in good conditions. Lubricate them and refit the mesh filter and the oil drainage plug, screwing them up to the prescribed torque. Refit the new cartridge filter being careful to lubri- cate the O-ring before fitting it.

    MSS X10 500ie Executive Maintenance If the check is carried out after the vehicle has been used, and therefore with a hot engine, the level will be lower; in order to carry out a correct check, wait at least 10 minutes after the engine has been stopped so as to get the correct level.
