9 Fit the service strut to the attachment under the base
plate. The attachment is highlighted in red.
10 Fit the other end of the strut to the cross tube on the
cutting unit. Pull out the pin and move the strut over the
cross tube to the position marked in red.
11 Release the pin so that it locks over the cross tube.
12 Start the engine and raise the cutting unit to the service
position.
13 Secure the cutting unit with the safety belt, which is stored
in the storage compartment under the seat.
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE

Restoring from service position

1 Remove the safety belt and place it in the storage
compartment.
2 Lower the cutting unit to the lowest position.
3 Remove the service strut and place it on the cutting unit.
4 Fit the universal drive shaft to the cutting unit. Secure the
front locking chain to the universal joint cover around the
cross pipe.
5 Start the engine. Raise the cutting unit halfway.
6 Fit the lifting eyes which are attached to the lift arms. Pull
out the catch and press in the lifting eye. There is one for
each lift arm.
7 Lower the cutting unit.
