Figure 4 Installing the Battery
Before using the MC9190-NI, install a lithium-ion battery by sliding the battery into the MC9190-NI.
NOTE Ensure the battery is fully inserted. Two audible clicks can be heard as the battery is fully inserted.
A partially inserted battery may result in unintentional data loss.
When a battery is fully inserted in a MC9190-NI for the first time, upon first power up, the device boots and
powers on automatically.

Replacing a Battery

CAUTION The battery may only be charged and changed outside the hazardous area.
Use only original Zebra batteries, p/n 21-65587-03-NI with 7.4 V 2200 mAh for safe operation.
The use of imitation batteries or batteries from other manufacturers will render the type of
ignition protection ineffective and there will then be a risk of fire or explosion.
Suspend the MC9190-NI prior to removing the battery. Failure to properly remove the

battery may cause the MC9190-NI to cold boot and potential loss of data.
To replace the battery:
Prior to removing the battery, press the red Power button. On Windows Mobile 6.5 devices, the PowerKey

The Indicator LED Bar lights red.
