NOTICE
The starting attempt is automati-
cally interrupted if battery voltage
is too low. Recharge the battery
before you attempt to start the
engine again, or use jumper ca-
bles and a donor battery to start.
More detailed information can
be found in the "Maintenance"
chapter under "Jump-starting".
Engine starts.
Consult the troubleshooting
chart if the engine refuses to
start. ( 180)
Pre-Ride-Check
During the "Pre-Ride-Check", the
instrument-cluster module ex-
ecutes a test routine to check
the status of the warning lights,
the tachometer and the display.
Starting the engine before the
test routine is completed will
cancel the remainder of the rou-
tine.
Phase 1
with anti-theft alarm system
OE
(DWA)
The LED 1 flashes briefly in red.
The general warning light 2 lights
up red.
All segments are shown in the
display.
The warning and indicator lights
4 light up.
OE
with cruise control
Depending on the equipment,
the warning and indicator lights 5
light up.
The tachometer needle 3 is
run up to the maximum engine
speed.
Phase 2
The general warning light 2
changes from red to yellow.
Phase 3
The tachometer needle drops
back to zero.
