Care and maintenance
Cleaning
Cleaning the pickup lens
• Dust on the pickup lens can lead to poor sound quality and
disrupt functions.
• Lift the CD cover and blow away any dust with the help of a spray can
filled with compressed air like those used for cleaning cameras and
objective lenses.
• You may also use special CDs made for cleaning the pickup lens.
Cleaning the player
• Use a soft cloth lightly moistened with lukewarm water.
• Never use alcohol, petrol or other strong solvents as they can destroy
the plastic surface.
• It is important that no liquid gets inside the CD player.
Consider this if the player is exposed to temperature change
Condensation on the components within the laser pickup can temporarily
impair the player's functions.
Condensation can occur in the following circumstances:
• When you bring the player into a warm room from outdoors or if it is
stored in a cold room which is quickly warmed up.
• During summer if you move the player from an air-conditioned location,
such as a car, to a warm or humid location.
If condensation occurs:
Wait 1–2 hours to allow the player to adjust to the ambient temperature
before using it. Lift the CD cover to quicken the process.
Caution: Do not expose the player to drops or splashes from liquids and do
not place objects containing liquids on the player, e.g. vases or soft drinks.
Remember that the player needs ventilation to prevent overheating.
