the oil level is at or below the 'add' mark on the dipstick,
add oil to bring the oil level to the 'full' mark. Do not
overfill. If the oil level is between the 'full' and 'add'
marks, no oil addition is required.
The engine is shipped with oil in the crankcase; however,
the level of oil must be checked before you first start the
engine and after you have run it.
1. Position the machine on a level surface.
2. Remove the dipstick, located under the passenger
seat, and wipe it with a clean rag (Figure 39). Insert
the dipstick into the tube and make sure it is seated
fully. Remove the dipstick and check the oil level.

3. If the oil level is low, remove the filler cap from
the valve cover (Figure 40) and pour oil into the
opening until the oil level is up to the Full mark on
the dipstick; refer to Servicing the Engine Oil for
the proper oil type and viscosity. Add the oil slowly
and check the level often during this process. Do
not overfill.

4. Install the filler cap.
5. Install the dipstick firmly in place.
Changing the Engine Oil and Filter
Service Interval: After the first 50 hours

1. Start the engine and let it run until warm; this warms
the oil so it drains better.
2. Set the parking brake, stop the pump, stop the
engine, and remove the ignition key.
3. Raise the seats.
Components under the seat will be hot if the
sprayer has been running. If you touch hot
components you may be burned.
Allow the sprayer to cool before performing
maintenance or touching components under
the hood.
4. Place a pan below the oil drain.
5. Remove the drain plug (Figure 41).

6. Place a separate pan under the oil filter.
7. Remove the old oil filter (Figure 42).
