Adjusting the Electric Clutch

Service Interval: Every 100 hours
The clutch is adjustable to ensure proper engagement and
proper braking.
1. Insert a 0.381–0.533 mm (0.015–0.021 inch) feeler
gauge through 1 inspection slot in the side of the
assembly.
Note: Make sure it is between the armature and the
rotor friction surfaces.
2. Tighten the lock nuts until there is slight binding on
the feeler gauge but it can be moved easily within the
air gap (Figure 35).
3. Repeat this for the remaining slots.
4. Check each slot again and make slight adjustments until
the feeler gauge between the rotor and armature with
very slight contact between them.

Cooling System
Maintenance

Cleaning the Air Intake Screen

Service Interval: Before each use or daily
Remove any build-up of grass, dirt, or other debris from the
cylinder and cylinder head cooling fins, air intake screen on
flywheel end, and carburetor-governor levers and linkage.
This will help ensure adequate cooling and correct engine
speed and will reduce the possibility of overheating and
mechanical damage to the engine.
