5 - send and receive text messages
text messages are fun,
quick and convenient
When a phone call is inappropriate, or you
only want to convey a short and simple
message you can send a text message.
1 From the main display press .
2 A blank new message screen will be
displayed. You can now write your text
message.
3 Your phone will be set to standard text
input indicated by . To enter text
using this mode you have to press each
key the right number of times to get the
character you want.
For example, to get an O you would
press the 6 key three times. For an A
you would press the 2 key once. Press 0
for a space. Press # to swap between
Abc, ABC and abc case.
4 Press and hold for a selection of
symbols.
5 To delete a single character, press Clear.
To delete the entire message, press
Options and scroll to Clear text then

press Select.
6 To send the message, press Options,
and select Send. Enter the number you
want to send the message to, or press
Search to find the number in your
phonebook. Press OK.
Note: The ability to send and receive text
messages when roaming is dependant
upon the partner network in use.

save time using predictive
text input
This uses a dictionary to recognise certain
combinations of letters and uses this to
predict the word you want to write.
1 Press # repeatedly when you are writing
the message until you get to
.
2 Swap back to standard text input at any
time by pressing # until you get to .
To enter text using predictive input you only
need to press the key for a letter once. So,
for example, to write the word orange you
would press 6, 7, 2, 6, 4 and 3. You will see
that the word does not appear on screen
immediately - don't worry, that's how it
works.
When you have finished pressing all of the
keys, the word should appear on screen.
Press 0 to accept the word or press
repeatedly to view the alternative word
options. When the right word appears press
0. A space will automatically be added and
you can start to enter the next word.
send the same text
message to more than
one person
This is a handy feature to use when you
need to repeat the same message to
more than one person.
1 When you have finished writing your text
message press Options.
2 Scroll to Sending options and press Select.
3 Select Send to many.
4 Select the first person you want to send
the message to and press Send.
Do the same for the second person and
so on until you have selected everyone
you want to send the message to. Press
Done to send the message.
Note: The cost to send a text message
depends on your Service Plan and you are
charged for each person the message is
sent to.
