3 - manage your contacts using your phonebook
Default numbers are the numbers your
phone automatically calls for your
contact, usually the first number entered
for the contact and marked by a box
outline around the icon.
If a contacts phone number is stored on
your SIM Card and phone memory, their
name doesn't appear when they call.
Only the phone number will appear.
Note: Your SIM Card can store 90
contacts. When you copy contacts from
the phone memory to the SIM memory only
the first 90 contacts saved will be
transferred.

Speed dialling allows you to call eight
of your most used numbers by pressing
just one key. These numbers are stored
in keys 2 to 9.
To activate speed dialling:

Press Menu and select Settings. Select
Call settings.

Select Speed dialling and select On.
To assign a number to a speed dial:

Press the speed dial key that you want
to assign the number to then press
Press OK when you are asked if you'd
like to Assign as speed dial number now.

Press Search to choose the name and
number that you wish to assign then
press Select twice.
To make a call using speed dialling:

Press and hold the key assigned to the
number you want.
Note: If speed dialling is not activated you
can still dial your contacts quickly by
pressing the location number you want and
then pressing

To edit your speed dial numbers:

Press Names and select Speed dials.

Scroll to the number you wish to edit
and press Options.

Press Select to view, change or delete
the assigned number.

Your Nokia 6100 can send and receive
contact information in the form of business
cards via Text Messaging and Infrared to
compatible phones.
To send a business card:

Press
to enter your phonebook.

Scroll to the name of the person whose
details you wish to send and press Details.

Press Options and select Send bus. card.
Choose how to send the details:
Via infrared

Via text message

send a text message.
To receive a business card press Show
when you receive the message. Press Save
to save the contact to your phone's memory.
Note: You are charged your standard service
rate for each text message you send.

contacts into groups
You can group your contacts together
and then assign different ring tones and
logos to each group to help you identify
who is calling.

Press Names and select Caller groups.
Select the Caller group that you want.
