11. Initial Operation
b) Inserting a CD
Open the CD-compartment by pressing the
OPEN/CLOSE button either on the control or
disc drive unit. The word „OPEN" appears on
the display.
Place an audio CD with the written side (label
side) face upwards in the CD drawer. Always hold
a CD on the outer edge and avoid touching the
surface of the underside.
The CD player is designed to play back audio CDs only. Do not insert any other CDs.
Do not insert any damaged CD into the player; the high rotation speed may cause it
to shatter and damage the device. Make sure that the CD is positioned correctly on
the CD tray. Do not insert more than one CD per compartment.
Never interfere with the motor-driven movement of the CD disk drive drawer. Do not
close the CD compartment by pressing on it, this damages the mechanics and could
lead to malfunctioning.
Close the disc drive drawer again by pressing on the OPEN/CLOSE-button. The device reads the
CD (display shows rEAd). The LC display shows the total amount of tracks and the total CD playing
time, for approx. 2 seconds. Afterwards, the device automatically sets the CUE mark at the start-
ing point of the music of the first track on the CD.
After the device has read the CD and set the CUE mark, the CD player goes into pause mode auto-
matically.
The CD compartment can not be opened during play mode. This prevents any unfore-
seen interruptions to playback. Before pressing the OPEN/CLOSE-button stop playb-
ack.
c) Playback/Pause/Stop
(10) , playback starts. The time on the display runs. The

point at which playback is started is automatically saved as a CUE mark.
You can stop playback in two ways:
1. Press the key PLAYBACK/PAUSE
where playback stopped into pause mode. The button PLAYBACK/PAUSE
button CUE (11) blink.
2. Press CUE (11), the device returns to the CUE position and goes into pause mode.
3. Press and hold the button TIME/STOP (6) longer than 3 seconds. The device stops playback.
d) Track selection
Via the respective track skip key or
will jump each time to the beginning of the selected track.
If you keep the track skip key depressed, the CD player skips the tracks until you let
the key go again.

Select the start of the next CD track by pressing the button

te prise femelle. Reliez la prise femelle de l´unité
lecteur à la prise correspondante „REMOTE
CONTROL 2" (35) de l´unité lecteur.

Sur ces prises femelles Cinch, les signaux de
sortie audio droit et gauche du lecteur de CD 2
sortent sous forme analogique. Raccordez ici
ce
l'entrée audio de la table de mixage ou de l'am-
plificateur.

Sur cette prise, le signal audio du lecteur de CD
2 est sorti sous forme numérique. Ici, il est pos-
sible de raccorder par ex. l'entrée audio numé-
rique d'un amplificateur.

La prise femelle START/PAUSE permet de
démarrer ou d´arrêter la lecture du lecteur de
CD à l´aide d´une table de mixage équipée en
fonction.
